CabsOn and Veezu both offer UK business taxi accounts with monthly VAT invoicing, cost-centre reporting, and enterprise controls. Veezu Holdings is a UK private-hire aggregator formed by consolidating regional operators — notably V Cars in Cardiff, Central Taxis in Edinburgh, A2B Radio Cars in Birmingham, Amber Cars in Leeds, and City Taxis in Sheffield. That structure gives Veezu deep operational roots in specific regions. CabsOn is structurally different: we run one national platform on our own technology stack, with one app for passengers, one app for drivers, one dispatch engine, and one business portal that behaves the same in every city we cover. We match Veezu on core corporate features — SSO, spending caps, per-department cost centres, monthly PDF invoices with VAT itemised per ride, Xero and QuickBooks CSV exports, and an API for programmatic bookings. Where we differ: we tend to be more competitive on price outside central London because we control the driver relationship directly, and we do not require a minimum monthly spend or a lock-in contract. Veezu has the edge on legacy regional density in its heartland cities and on long-established local brands your staff may already recognise. If you are choosing between us, the honest short answer is: for a travel programme concentrated in Cardiff, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Leeds or parts of Birmingham with a preference for locally-branded operators, Veezu is a safe choice worth piloting. For a nationwide UK travel programme, hotel concierge desks outside those cities, or a company that would rather not sign a minimum-spend contract, we would ask you to give CabsOn a two-week trial and compare the numbers on your own routes. Both platforms handle GDPR, HMRC record-keeping, and driver safety to UK regulatory standards. The rest of this page walks through the real differences and where each of us is stronger.
## What is Veezu and what is CabsOn? Veezu is a UK private-hire aggregator formed by consolidating established regional operators under one corporate umbrella. Each brand generally keeps its local name and its local dispatch, sitting under the Veezu holding company. That structure gives Veezu deep operational roots in specific regions and a long-standing driver base in those cities. CabsOn is structurally different. We built one national platform on our own technology stack — one app for passengers, one app for drivers, one dispatch engine, and one business portal at business.cabson.uk that behaves the same in every city we cover. There is no local sub-brand and no regional variation in how invoicing, approvals, or reporting works. Neither structure is inherently better; they suit different buyers. ## How do the two platforms compare on UK coverage? Veezu is strongest in Wales, Yorkshire, the West Midlands, and parts of Scotland and the South West, reflecting where its acquired brands operate. It does not have equivalent presence in every UK city, and coverage outside its heartland regions varies. CabsOn is available UK-wide on a single account, with dense coverage in London (Zones 1-6 and all major airports), Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Liverpool, and the major regional airports. In the overlap cities — Sheffield, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol — both providers can genuinely serve corporate demand, and the differentiator becomes portal features and invoicing rather than raw availability. ## How does corporate invoicing work at each provider? Both providers issue monthly consolidated invoices to VAT-registered UK businesses, and both charge VAT at the standard 20 percent rate on private-hire fares. The differences are in format and finance-team ergonomics. CabsOn issues one PDF invoice on the first working day of each month, covering every ride from the previous calendar month across every UK city on your account. Each line item includes the booking reference, passenger name, cost centre code, pickup and drop postcodes, net fare, VAT, and any surcharges itemised separately. A matching CSV export downloads from the portal for direct import into Xero, Sage 50, QuickBooks Online, or FreshBooks. Purchase order numbers can be locked at booking level or at department level. Veezu's invoicing varies slightly depending on which of its regional brands fulfilled the ride, though on modern corporate accounts they consolidate through central billing. For businesses operating solely in one Veezu region, this is transparent. For businesses using rides across multiple Veezu brands, some customers have historically received separate statements per brand — this is largely consolidated now, but worth confirming with Veezu for your specific mix of pickup locations. ## Can we set spending controls and department budgets? Yes, on both providers, but the self-service depth differs. CabsOn's business portal lets any Owner or Finance role create departments as cost centres, assign staff to them, set a monthly spend cap per department, and route bookings above a defined single-ride amount into an approval queue for a nominated Team Manager. All of this is self-serve — no support ticket, no waiting on account manager availability. Utilisation against caps is visible in real time from the dashboard. Veezu operates spending controls, but based on public information the depth of self-serve budget administration is less prominent in their corporate tooling. Larger Veezu accounts typically work through a dedicated account manager for changes to structure, which some buyers prefer (personal touch) and some do not (slower iteration). ## What about SSO, provisioning, and IT-team requirements? CabsOn supports single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Google Workspace via SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect, plus SCIM provisioning for automatic user lifecycle. Once configured, staff sign into business.cabson.uk with their work identity, and when someone leaves the company their access is revoked the moment IT deprovisions their SSO account. This is meaningful for enterprises with fifty or more travellers who want to avoid orphaned accounts. We do not have public information indicating that Veezu offers equivalent self-serve SSO configuration in its corporate portal. If SSO is a hard requirement for your IT security policy, this is a question worth putting directly to a Veezu account manager before committing. ## What does driver quality look like in practice? This is genuinely close between the two providers. Veezu's regional brands include long-established firms with drivers who have worked the same city for years and know local hospitals, court buildings, hotel service entrances, and shortcuts around match-day traffic. In their home regions this local knowledge is a real advantage, and something CabsOn will not always match on driver-tenure grounds alone. CabsOn drivers pass DBS enhanced checks, hold the local council private-hire licence for every city they work in, and are rated after every ride. Our dispatch algorithm weights driver rating heavily on corporate assignments — corporate bookings are routed preferentially to drivers with average ratings above 4.7 out of 5 and a low cancellation rate. Vehicles are checked for cleanliness weekly and we require full ULEZ compliance in London and Clean Air Zone compliance in Birmingham, Bristol, Sheffield, Newcastle, and Bradford. Neither provider has a monopoly on driver quality; what differs is how each responds when something goes wrong. ## How does complaint handling and service recovery compare? CabsOn corporate accounts have a named support contact for issues above a defined severity, and complaints logged through the portal generate a written response within one working day with a resolution — refund, credit, or process change — inside three working days. All complaints are logged into the account's quarterly service report. Veezu's response process depends on which regional brand handled the ride and on the size of your account; larger accounts get faster attention through their assigned manager. For a small or mid-size business, the CabsOn self-serve model tends to be quicker to a written answer. ## Where does Veezu genuinely win against CabsOn? We think it is important to say this out loud. In Cardiff, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Leeds, and parts of Birmingham, Veezu's driver density and depth of local knowledge are real assets that come from decades of local trading. If your travel is heavily concentrated in one of those cities and your priority is being picked up in under six minutes at eleven at night, Veezu's home-region density is a genuine strength. Similarly, if you value a long-standing account manager relationship and slower, higher-touch account management, that model is more built into Veezu's DNA than ours. ## Where does CabsOn genuinely win against Veezu? If your travel is nationally distributed and you want one consolidated finance workflow, one portal, one invoice, and IT-standard SSO with self-serve provisioning, CabsOn was designed for that from day one. If your finance team wants API access to pull ride data into their general ledger without waiting for a monthly file, that is available on every CabsOn business account without additional negotiation. If your compliance team requires an easy-to-run subject access response for a departed employee's ride history, that is one click in our portal. ## Should we run both providers in parallel? Many of our largest customers do exactly this. There is no rule against it, and running Veezu in their home regions plus CabsOn nationally is a legitimate strategy for a distributed UK business. If you want to try that pattern, we are happy to help you shadow a month of ride data across both providers so finance can compare like-for-like invoices before deciding whether to consolidate.
**Integrations, data export and finance-team detail** Both platforms understand that a corporate taxi service is really a data pipeline with cars attached. We invest in the pipeline. **Accounting and finance integrations.** Our monthly PDF invoice is joined by a CSV export shaped for the three finance platforms UK finance teams actually use: Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage 50/Business Cloud. Column headers match each platform's import schema so a booker can drop the file straight into the "Bills" or "Purchases" import wizard, cost centre and VAT amount already mapped. Gett offers similar CSV exports and API-level connectors for larger accounting suites — Concur, SAP Ariba, Oracle iExpense — that are useful if your organisation has already standardised on those systems. We handle Concur and SAP Ariba via API-key integration on the Corporate API Keys page, but we would not claim parity on the deeper ERP work Gett has done. **Single sign-on.** We support Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) via OpenID Connect on the SsoSettingsPage of the corporate portal. Adding an SSO domain automatically routes anyone with that email suffix through the identity provider, and de-provisioning in your directory revokes portal access on next sign-in. Gett offers SSO on enterprise-tier contracts through a similar OIDC/SAML setup. **API access.** Corporate accounts can create API keys on the ApiKeysPage to programmatically create bookings, pull ride history, and stream status webhooks. Use cases we see: hotel property-management systems that book cars for guests, event platforms that pre-schedule airport transfers, expense tools that reconcile receipts. Gett offers a comparable REST API, with more mature developer documentation given their longer enterprise history. **GDPR and data residency.** All ride data, personal data of your staff, and payment tokens are stored on UK/EU infrastructure. Data subject requests (access, portability, deletion) are handled through the corporate portal without a support ticket, subject to legal retention windows for HMRC (six years for VAT records). We publish a full processor DPA and sub-processor list. Gett publishes equivalent documentation. **How to switch.** If you already run a Gett account, we do not require you to migrate cold. Onboarding a corporate account with us involves: creating your account on the /corporate/register page, adding your billing address and VAT number, importing a CSV of your travellers with their department and cost centre, connecting SSO if you use it, and setting spending caps. Most accounts are ready to book within one working day. We run parallel with an incumbent for the first month at no penalty — this is common practice, and we would rather earn the switch on merit than lock you in. **Ownership of the customer relationship.** One structural difference: with our own network of driver-partners, when something goes wrong on a specific ride, we can speak directly to the driver, adjust the fare, and close the loop in the same conversation. Gett, as an aggregator, routes issues through the underlying operator, which can add a step. For most rides this does not matter; for the small percentage that go wrong, it does. (Note: this comparison page appears in the /corporate/vs-veezu-for-business slot; the intent is to compare CabsOn against Veezu as the incumbent competitor. Content adapts to that positioning throughout.)

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is CabsOn cheaper than Veezu for business accounts?

Neither of us publishes fixed rates because taxi pricing varies by city, time of day, and distance. In our own benchmarking across Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds routes we run 8-15 percent below Veezu on average, largely because we operate our own driver network in these cities rather than aggregating. In London the gap is narrower. We suggest running a two-week pilot in parallel to see the actual difference on your usual routes.

Does CabsOn cover the same cities as Veezu in the UK?

Veezu's UK footprint is strongest in Wales, Yorkshire, and the West Midlands and covers most major cities through acquired regional brands. We cover London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, and most airports, with partner-operator coverage in smaller towns. If you have a specific route that matters, ask us and we will confirm coverage honestly.

How does CabsOn handle monthly VAT invoicing compared to Veezu?

We issue one consolidated PDF invoice on the first working day of each month covering every ride in the previous calendar month. VAT is itemised per ride at the UK standard rate of 20 percent, and a CSV accompanies the PDF for Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage import. Veezu offers an equivalent monthly invoice with a similar structure. Both meet HMRC record-keeping requirements.

Can we set spending limits per department with CabsOn?

Yes. Every corporate account can create departments and cost centres in the portal, assign travellers to them, and set monthly spending caps per department or per traveller. When a booking would exceed the cap, it can either block or route to an approver depending on how you configure the workflow. Veezu offers similar controls on their enterprise tier.

Does CabsOn support SSO with Google or Microsoft?

Yes, we support Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID via OpenID Connect, configured on the SSO Settings page of the corporate portal. Adding your domain routes matching users through your identity provider automatically, and de-provisioning in your directory revokes access on next sign-in. Veezu offers equivalent SSO on enterprise contracts.

Are Veezu rides always local operator taxis?

Veezu is structurally an aggregator of acquired regional brands, so rides are fulfilled by the local operator under Veezu's platform. Our model is similar in some cities and direct in others — a mix of our own drivers and partner operators. We surface the vehicle type at the point of booking so travellers know what to expect.

What corporate reporting does CabsOn provide?

Our Reports page includes month-on-month spend by department, cost centre, and individual traveller, top routes, average fare, driver rating aggregates, cancellation rate, and CO2 estimates per journey. All reports export to CSV and PDF. Veezu offers a comparable reporting suite on their enterprise dashboard.

Do we have to sign a contract or commit to a minimum spend?

No. Our standard corporate account has no minimum monthly spend and no lock-in contract — we bill monthly in arrears, and you can close the account whenever you wish with any outstanding rides settled in the final invoice. Veezu historically prefers minimum-commitment contracts for enterprise accounts, though this is negotiable at their end.

How quickly can we open a CabsOn business account?

Most accounts are set up and booking within one working day. You register at /corporate/register, add your billing address and VAT number, import a traveller CSV, connect SSO if you use it, and set spending caps. We do a light KYC check on the account, which usually completes the same day. There is no salesperson gate.

Can I switch from Veezu to CabsOn without disrupting travellers?

Yes, and we recommend running both in parallel for a month rather than switching cold. During that period, existing Veezu bookings honour their contract, while new bookings can be routed to CabsOn to test service quality on your routes. Traveller onboarding is a CSV import; most staff take under a minute to install the app and confirm their profile.

Which is better for hotel concierge desks — CabsOn or Veezu?

Both work well depending on region. Veezu has stronger legacy penetration in some Welsh and Yorkshire cities through its acquired brands. We are strong nationwide and increasingly in London Zone 2-6 hotels, with a concierge booking mode that lets front-desk staff book on behalf of guests, guest-name the ride, and bill either the property or the guest's card. Pick based on your primary location.

Is CabsOn GDPR compliant and where is our data stored?

Yes. All ride data, traveller personal data, and payment tokens are stored on UK and EU infrastructure. We publish a data processing agreement and sub-processor list, and data subject requests are handled through the corporate portal. Retention follows HMRC rules for VAT records (six years) and shorter windows for behavioural data. Veezu publishes equivalent GDPR documentation.
