Off-peak, a taxi run from Zone 1 typically takes around an hour; add 20–40 minutes during the morning rush or when there's an incident on the M25 near junction 27. Because Stansted has just one terminal, the transfer is mercifully straightforward compared with Heathrow or Gatwick — but the airport's short-stay charging structure and the walk from the car park to check-in are things a good driver plans around.

Because Stansted's forecourt is drop-off only and enforced by ANPR, meet-and-greet is the sensible option on arrival. When your flight lands, your driver parks in the short-stay car park, which sits directly opposite the terminal (a covered walkway connects the two), and meets you in the arrivals hall holding a name board. If you'd rather keep it lean, we also offer a "kerbside collect" option — you clear customs, message your driver, and they'll swing round to pick you up from the designated pickup zone. Both are included in the fixed fare; short-stay parking for meet-and-greet is on us for the first 30 minutes of waiting.
For departures, we recommend the airport's own drop-off zone. Stansted charges a flat drop-off fee (roughly £7 for a short stay at the express set-down, refunded if you're in and out inside 15 minutes at the mid-stay drop-off). Whichever we use, that charge is already bundled into your quote — you won't be asked for it at the barrier.
Traffic on the M11 and M25 makes a real difference, so treat these as a guide rather than a promise. We'd always recommend leaving a comfortable buffer for a Ryanair or easyJet departure, since those airlines close bag drop earlier than most.
We quote a fixed fare at the point of booking based on postcode-to-postcode distance, vehicle class, and time of day. Prices vary with fuel, demand and route, so we'd rather show you a live quote than commit to a headline number here — but as a rough guide, saloon fares from central London to Stansted typically sit in the £75–£95 range off-peak, with executive vehicles a little higher. For airport transfers we recommend booking at least 3 hours ahead where you can. For 4am and 5am Ryanair departures, booking the night before is safer — we build in extra buffer for those slots because there's less scope to recover if something slips.
Luggage limits are simple: use the same rule of thumb as your airline. A saloon comfortably holds 2 large cases and 2 cabin bags; an estate or MPV handles up to 5 large cases; the 8-seater will take 6 large cases plus hand luggage. Ski bags, golf clubs, cellos and larger items are fine but let us know at booking so we can dispatch the right vehicle rather than turn up in a Prius with a golf-club-sized problem.
Child seats are available on request at no extra charge — please tell us at booking time whether you need a baby seat (0–12 months), toddler seat (9 months–4 years) or booster (4–12 years), and for how many children. Because we hold a limited stock, adding a child seat to a booking a few hours before pickup isn't always possible, so please plan ahead where you can.
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs) are available with 12+ hours' notice on any Stansted route. Please book by phone rather than through the app so we can confirm the specific ramp/lift configuration you need. Our WAV drivers are trained in safe wheelchair securing and passenger transfer.
You can pay by Visa, Mastercard or Amex at the point of booking, or via Apple Pay and Google Pay in the app. Cash is accepted in-car if you prefer. Corporate accounts are billed monthly against a purchase order with a VAT-compliant statement — useful for travel managers who want to consolidate airport transfers across a team. Every booking generates an emailed VAT receipt automatically; if you need a duplicate or a bespoke expense format, our accounts team can send one within a working day.
Life happens — flights get rescheduled, meetings run over, and Ryanair occasionally moves a slot by two hours the night before. Cancel or amend your Stansted transfer free of charge up to 2 hours before pickup for standard vehicles, and up to 4 hours before for executive and 8-seater bookings. Inside those windows, a partial charge may apply. If your flight is cancelled entirely, get in touch — we'll almost always waive the fee and simply reschedule.
Roughly 30 minutes before your driver is due, you'll receive an SMS with their name, phone number, vehicle make, model and registration. On arrival at Stansted, once you've cleared the immigration hall and picked up bags, walk out into arrivals and look for the name board — that's your driver.
