London Stansted (STN) is a single-terminal airport in Uttlesford, Essex, roughly 40 miles north-east of central London via the M11. Off-peak, a taxi run from Zone 1 typically takes around an hour; add 20–40 minutes during the morning rush or when there's an incident on the M25 near junction 27. Because Stansted has just one terminal, the transfer is mercifully straightforward compared with Heathrow or Gatwick — but the airport's short-stay charging structure and the walk from the car park to check-in are things a good driver plans around.

We run Stansted transfers around the clock, seven days a week. Most bookings are pre-arranged through the app or website with a fixed fare, but you can also call our 24-hour dispatch line. Drivers arrive early as standard, we hold your fare even if we sit in traffic, and the price you're quoted includes the airport drop-off levy — so there's nothing extra to hand over at the barrier.

Fleet options for your Stansted transfer

Ryanair and Jet2 passengers travel light more often than not, so the saloon is our most popular Stansted booking. That said, a family off on a fortnight in Faro with a pushchair and two suitcases will be more comfortable in an estate or MPV, and business travellers heading to a meeting straight off an Emirates arrival often prefer the executive tier. Our standard fleet options are:

• Saloon — up to 4 passengers with 2 medium cases and 2 cabin bags. Toyota Prius, Skoda Octavia or similar. Our lowest-priced Stansted option.
• Estate — 4 passengers with more boot space, ideal for skis, golf clubs, or a family with several large cases.
• MPV / 6-seater — up to 6 passengers, well-suited to airport transfers because the boot handles 6 medium cases comfortably.
• 8-seater — for groups, stag/hen trips or an extended family flying together on the same booking.
• Executive — Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or equivalent, with a suited driver, complimentary water and phone chargers. Popular for corporate accounts and inbound clients.
• Wheelchair-accessible (WAV) — pre-booked only; please give at least 12 hours' notice so we can dispatch the right vehicle.

Meet-and-greet at Stansted's short-stay car park

Because Stansted's forecourt is drop-off only and enforced by ANPR, meet-and-greet is the sensible option on arrival. When your flight lands, your driver parks in the short-stay car park, which sits directly opposite the terminal (a covered walkway connects the two), and meets you in the arrivals hall holding a name board. If you'd rather keep it lean, we also offer a "kerbside collect" option — you clear customs, message your driver, and they'll swing round to pick you up from the designated pickup zone. Both are included in the fixed fare; short-stay parking for meet-and-greet is on us for the first 30 minutes of waiting.

For departures, we recommend the airport's own drop-off zone. Stansted charges a flat drop-off fee (roughly £7 for a short stay at the express set-down, refunded if you're in and out inside 15 minutes at the mid-stay drop-off). Whichever we use, that charge is already bundled into your quote — you won't be asked for it at the barrier.

Traffic on the M11 and M25 makes a real difference, so treat these as a guide rather than a promise. We'd always recommend leaving a comfortable buffer for a Ryanair or easyJet departure, since those airlines close bag drop earlier than most.

Pricing — what a Stansted taxi actually costs

We quote a fixed fare at the point of booking based on postcode-to-postcode distance, vehicle class, and time of day. Prices vary with fuel, demand and route, so we'd rather show you a live quote than commit to a headline number here — but as a rough guide, saloon fares from central London to Stansted typically sit in the £75–£95 range off-peak, with executive vehicles a little higher. Local runs from Bishop's Stortford, Harlow or Cambridge are usually much less.
