Fixed-fare quotes — Stockport, Manchester, and Manchester Airport.

Manchester Airport sits on the southern edge of the conurbation, and most of our work moves people between the airport and the surrounding boroughs. Stockport mostly, with Salford, Trafford, Cheadle, Wilmslow, Altrincham and the city centre making up most of the rest. The journey is short by national standards (Stockport to Terminal 2 is around 25 minutes off-peak) but the M56 has its moods.

Our model is straightforward. Fixed fare quoted before you book, drop-off charge bundled in, flight tracking on every arrival, and 60 minutes of free waiting time after touchdown so customs queues never become your driver's problem.

What you get on every airport booking

We have stripped this down because most operators bury extras in fine print. Your quote includes:

  • The Manchester Airport drop-off charge. That £5 fee at every terminal forecourt is in the price. No surprise tap-and-pay at the kerb.
  • Flight tracking from your inbound flight number. Pickup time auto-shifts forward if your flight lands early, holds back if it is late.
  • 60 minutes of free waiting after the published landing time. Plenty for the worst-case immigration queue.
  • Meet and greet at the terminal exit (optional, no extra cost). Driver waits with your name on a board at arrivals.
  • A licensed Greater Manchester driver who knows which way to go when there is an incident on the M56 J5.

Manchester Airport terminals: what to know

Three passenger terminals plus the rail and Metrolink station. Forecourt drop-offs are standard for departures. Arrivals pickups have to be pre-booked because the airport does not allow private hire to wait for unconfirmed jobs.

  • Terminal 1 is still the busiest. Easyjet, Jet2 and TUI dominate, with most European leisure routes departing from here.
  • Terminal 2 handles long-haul. BA, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Etihad. Newest section, easiest curbside layout.
  • Terminal 3 is short-haul KLM, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus. Quietest of the three at most times of day.
  • The Station for trains and Metrolink. About 5 minutes walk to T1 and T2, longer for T3.

For drop-offs we use whichever forecourt your terminal serves. For pickups, meet and greet is the easiest option if you have not used the airport before. Otherwise we send the driver mobile and registration details and the standard arrival pickup is at the M&G car park, a 5-minute walk from any terminal. Covered, well-lit, no waiting at the curb.

How early to leave for Manchester Airport

Standard advice: 3 hours before long-haul, 2 hours before short-haul. Add to that:

  • From Stockport (SK1 to SK8): allow 30 minutes journey plus a 30-minute traffic buffer at peak commute (07:00 to 09:00 and 16:30 to 19:00).
  • From the city centre: about 45 minutes journey time at peak.
  • From Salford or Trafford: 35 to 50 minutes depending on traffic.
  • From Bury or Bolton: an hour.

For a 6am long-haul, leaving Stockport by 02:30 is comfortable. Earlier than that and you are parking up at Terminal 2 with too much time on your hands. We have done plenty of those. The cafes open from about 04:00.

Vehicle options for airport runs

  • Saloon. Up to 4 passengers, 2 cases. Most economical, fits about 80% of bookings.
  • Estate. Up to 4 passengers, 4 suitcases. Use this for family holidays with a full set of cases.
  • Executive (E-Class or 5 Series). Same passenger count as saloon, suited driver, water and wifi included. Most corporate accounts pick this for visiting clients.
  • 8-seater MPV. Group runs, sports teams, hen and stag parties. Full luggage capacity for 8 with bags.
