CabsOn and Gett both offer UK business taxi accounts with monthly VAT invoicing, cost-centre reporting, and enterprise controls. Gett is a well-established platform with a strong London black-cab heritage and deep enterprise integrations, particularly with Concur and SAP Ariba. We at CabsOn run our own driver network across the UK's major cities plus partner operators for wider coverage, and we match Gett on core corporate features — SSO, spending caps, per-department cost centres, monthly PDF invoices with VAT itemised per ride, Xero and QuickBooks CSV exports, and an API for programmatic bookings. Where we differ: we tend to be more competitive on price outside central London because we control the driver relationship directly, and we do not require a minimum monthly spend or a lock-in contract. Gett has the edge on legacy enterprise contracts, mature developer documentation, and deep-pocketed integrations with expense platforms your finance team may already use. If you are choosing between us, the honest short answer is: for a London-first travel programme with heavy Concur or SAP integration, Gett is a safe choice worth piloting. For a nationwide UK travel programme, hotel concierge desks outside Zone 1, or a company that would rather not sign a minimum-spend contract, we would ask you to give CabsOn a two-week trial and compare the numbers on your own routes. Both platforms handle GDPR, HMRC record-keeping, and driver safety to UK regulatory standards. The rest of this page walks through the real differences and where each of us is stronger.
## What is Gett and what is CabsOn? Gett is a corporate ground-transport platform founded in Israel in 2010 that entered the UK by acquiring an established London black-cab dispatch business. Today Gett operates in the UK primarily as an aggregator: they have their own driver relationships in London, and elsewhere they route bookings to partner private-hire operators through their platform. Their pitch is enterprise-first — a single account, single invoice, single dashboard for all your ground travel across the UK and, via partners, internationally. CabsOn is a UK ground-transport platform built around our own driver network in the country's major cities plus partner operators for wider coverage. Our corporate portal at business.cabson.uk offers the same enterprise controls you would expect — bookings, approvals, staff and department management, cost-centre routing, monthly invoicing, SSO, API access, and reporting. We are smaller than Gett globally but focused on UK business travel, which is where a lot of our product decisions come from. ## How do the two platforms compare on UK coverage? Gett has strong London coverage with genuine black-cab supply and reasonable coverage in most large UK cities through partners. Outside the top ten cities, coverage becomes patchier and quotes may take longer to come back. We cover London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Newcastle, and Nottingham directly with our own driver network, and partner-operator coverage in smaller towns and rural areas across England, Scotland, and Wales. All major airports — Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds Bradford — are covered as origin or destination. If you have a specific route or city that matters for your travel programme, ask us and we will tell you honestly whether we are stronger or weaker there. ## How do the pricing models compare? Both of us quote per-ride pricing based on distance, time, and vehicle class rather than corporate list prices. Neither platform publishes a public rate card because taxi pricing varies too much by city, time of day, and demand. In our own benchmarking across common Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds routes, our per-ride price runs roughly 8 to 15 percent below Gett on average, largely because we operate our own driver relationships in these cities rather than aggregating through a third party. In London the price gap narrows because Gett's black-cab supply is dense and priced competitively. Neither of us adds a surcharge or booking fee on top of the metered ride. We suggest a two-week parallel pilot rather than trusting either of our claims — this is the only way to see the actual price you pay on your actual routes. ## How does monthly VAT invoicing work for each? Both platforms issue a monthly consolidated invoice suitable for UK VAT reclaim. We issue one PDF invoice on the first working day of each month covering every ride in the previous calendar month, with VAT itemised per ride at 20 percent, cost centre and department shown per line, and a downloadable CSV accompanying the PDF. The CSV is formatted for direct import into Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage 50. Invoices are emailed to your finance inbox and available for download in the InvoicesPage of the corporate portal for six years to satisfy HMRC retention rules. Gett issues an equivalent monthly invoice with similar structure. On their enterprise tier they offer direct API-level integration with Concur, SAP Ariba, and Oracle iExpense, which is useful if you already run one of those platforms. We integrate with Concur and SAP Ariba through our public API rather than a native connector — this works well for most accounts but is not quite parity with Gett's deeper integrations. ## What corporate controls does each platform offer? We match Gett on the core enterprise controls that UK finance and operations teams ask for: departments and cost centres with per-department spending caps; per-traveller monthly caps; approval workflows that route rides above a threshold to a nominated approver; booking-on-behalf so a PA or concierge desk can book for a named traveller; PO number capture at booking time; and traveller offboarding that revokes access instantly when someone leaves the company. Gett's controls are similar in scope, with slightly deeper policy configuration on their enterprise tier — for instance, geo-fenced booking rules that only permit rides between specific postcodes, and time-of-day restrictions per traveller class. If you have unusually complex travel policy, Gett is worth a look. For the great majority of UK corporate accounts, our controls do the job. ## Where does Gett win? We think Gett wins in three places, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. First, deep expense-platform integrations. If your finance team runs Concur or SAP Ariba as the system of record, Gett's native connectors will save your travel booker meaningful time compared with our API-based integration. Second, London black-cab supply density. Gett's history is in London black cabs and their supply there is genuinely deep. If your programme is heavily weighted to London with a preference for TX-style vehicles, Gett is a strong choice. Third, mature enterprise contracts. Gett has been selling to UK enterprises for over a decade and has a well-developed sales, onboarding, and account-management motion. If you require formal RFPs, negotiated SLAs, and named account teams, Gett is set up for that. We can meet those requirements but we are a smaller and lighter-touch operation. ## Where does CabsOn win? Nationwide UK coverage priced competitively outside central London — we run our own driver network in eleven cities rather than aggregating everywhere, which shows up in the per-ride price you pay. No minimum monthly spend and no lock-in contract. Our corporate account is priced on rides used, billed monthly in arrears, closable at will. Gett historically prefers a minimum-spend enterprise contract, though this is negotiable at their end. Fast onboarding. Most corporate accounts sign up on the /corporate/register page, complete KYC, import travellers, and start booking within one working day, without a salesperson in the loop. This suits smaller and mid-market accounts and hotel concierge desks that need to be up quickly. Concierge booking mode. Our hospitality booking flow lets a hotel front desk or PA book on behalf of a guest, tag the ride with the guest name, and choose whether the guest's card or the hotel account pays. Gett offers guest-of-guest booking but not with quite the same one-click concierge UI. ## Which is better for hotel concierge desks? This depends primarily on where your property is. In five-star Zone 1 London hotels, Gett has legacy penetration and their black-cab supply is a genuine advantage for guests who prefer the traditional experience. In Zone 2 through 6 London hotels, and everywhere outside London, our per-ride pricing tends to be more competitive and our concierge booking mode is purpose-built for hotel front desks. Both platforms handle guest billing versus property billing, VAT receipts to guests on request, and named-guest booking. ## Which is better for finance and travel-manager teams? If your organisation has already standardised on Concur or SAP Ariba and you want native connectors, Gett has the edge. If your organisation uses Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, or you handle expenses on receipts and manual reconciliation, our monthly PDF plus CSV workflow is likely simpler and cheaper. Both platforms give you department-level spend reporting, cost-centre routing, VAT itemisation, and CO2 estimates per ride.
Beyond guest bookings and monthly invoicing, three integrations decide whether a taxi partner actually saves your front desk time. We describe them here as they exist in our corporate portal today, and we flag which ones every UK operator worth shortlisting should be able to demonstrate before you sign. PMS integration matters more than it sounds. The property management systems most UK hotels run — Opera, Mews, Guestline, Protel, Little Hotelier — all expose an outbound API or webhook layer. A taxi partner should be able to receive a guest room number as a booking reference and post the ride back to the folio as a chargeable extra with the correct department code. We support this via a lightweight API and shared reference field: your concierge (or the PMS itself, if you enable it) creates the booking under the room number, and when the ride is completed the fare and VAT flow back to the folio automatically. If you use a PMS not on our tested list, we will typically build the connector in around ten working days provided the PMS exposes a standard webhook. Duty of care and data protection. Hotels are increasingly asked, particularly by corporate travel bookers and event planners, whether the taxi provider they use is GDPR-compliant and has documented safeguarding for lone travellers at night. We keep a live audit log of every ride linked to your account, retain data for the seven years HMRC requires for VAT-registered businesses, and share driver identity, vehicle plate, and route history with your compliance lead on request. All our drivers are DBS-checked and licensed by their local UK licensing authority — Transport for London for London operations, the relevant council elsewhere. Reporting for finance leads. Your accounts team wants three things: a VAT-itemised invoice they can post straight to the ledger, a monthly cost breakdown by department or cost centre, and a simple audit trail for HMRC. Our invoice PDFs meet the HMRC requirements for a valid VAT invoice (supplier VAT number, itemised net and VAT amounts, service description, date of supply). The CSV export mirrors the PDF line by line for your finance system. Support for late-night and airport pickups. Around 40 percent of hotel guest rides in our data are between 22:00 and 06:00, and roughly a third involve a UK airport. We meter airport standing time from the point the driver reaches the pickup zone, cap it at the local airport's typical clearance window, and flag any ride that is disputed by the guest so your duty manager can review it before the invoice closes. This matters because unclear airport charges are, in our experience, the single most common source of concierge complaints against national taxi providers. (This page positions CabsOn against Gett — the well-established London black-cab-heritage corporate ground transport platform — for UK business accounts weighing coverage, invoicing, SSO, and reporting.)

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is CabsOn cheaper than Gett for business accounts?

Neither of us publishes fixed rates because taxi pricing varies by city, time of day, and distance. In our own benchmarking across Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds routes we run 8-15 percent below Gett on average, largely because we operate our own driver network in these cities rather than aggregating. In London the gap is narrower. We suggest running a two-week pilot in parallel to see the actual difference on your usual routes.

Does CabsOn cover the same cities as Gett in the UK?

Gett's UK footprint is strongest in London and covers most major cities through partner operators. We cover London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Newcastle, and Nottingham, with partner-operator coverage in smaller towns. If you have a specific route that matters, ask us and we will confirm coverage honestly rather than promise everywhere.

How does CabsOn handle monthly VAT invoicing compared to Gett?

We issue one consolidated PDF invoice on the first working day of each month covering every ride in the previous calendar month. VAT is itemised per ride at the UK standard rate of 20 percent, and a CSV accompanies the PDF for Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage import. Gett offers an equivalent monthly invoice with a similar structure. Both meet HMRC record-keeping requirements.

Can we set spending limits per department with CabsOn?

Yes. Every corporate account can create departments and cost centres in the portal, assign travellers to them, and set monthly spending caps per department or per traveller. When a booking would exceed the cap, it can either block or route to an approver depending on how you configure the workflow. Gett offers similar controls on their enterprise tier.

Does CabsOn support SSO with Google or Microsoft?

Yes, we support Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID via OpenID Connect, configured on the SSO Settings page of the corporate portal. Adding your domain routes matching users through your identity provider automatically, and de-provisioning in your directory revokes access on next sign-in. Gett offers equivalent SSO on enterprise contracts.

Are Gett rides always black cabs?

Not always. Gett started as a black-cab platform and remains strong on London black cabs, but they aggregate private-hire operators as well, particularly outside London. The vehicle you actually get depends on availability at the time of booking. We work similarly — a mix of our own drivers and partner operators — and we surface the vehicle type at the point of booking so travellers know what to expect.

What corporate reporting does CabsOn provide?

Our Reports page includes month-on-month spend by department, cost centre, and individual traveller, top routes, average fare, driver rating aggregates, cancellation rate, and CO2 estimates per journey. All reports export to CSV and PDF. Gett offers a comparable reporting suite on their enterprise dashboard, with slightly deeper cuts for accounts spending over roughly £50,000 per month.

Do we have to sign a contract or commit to a minimum spend?

No. Our standard corporate account has no minimum monthly spend and no lock-in contract — we bill monthly in arrears, and you can close the account whenever you wish with any outstanding rides settled in the final invoice. Gett historically prefers minimum-commitment contracts for enterprise accounts, though this is negotiable at their end.

How quickly can we open a CabsOn business account?

Most accounts are set up and booking within one working day. You register at /corporate/register, add your billing address and VAT number, import a traveller CSV, connect SSO if you use it, and set spending caps. We do a light KYC check on the account, which usually completes the same day. There is no salesperson gate.

Can I switch from Gett to CabsOn without disrupting travellers?

Yes, and we recommend running both in parallel for a month rather than switching cold. During that period, existing Gett bookings honour their contract, while new bookings can be routed to CabsOn to test service quality on your routes. Traveller onboarding is a CSV import; most staff take under a minute to install the app and confirm their profile.

Which is better for hotel concierge desks — CabsOn or Gett?

Both work well. Gett has stronger legacy penetration in central London five-star hotels and a mature concierge dashboard. We are strong outside London and increasingly in London Zone 2-6 hotels, with a concierge booking mode that lets front-desk staff book on behalf of guests, guest-name the ride, and bill either the property or the guest's card. Pick based on your primary location.

Is CabsOn GDPR compliant and where is our data stored?

Yes. All ride data, traveller personal data, and payment tokens are stored on UK and EU infrastructure. We publish a data processing agreement and sub-processor list, and data subject requests are handled through the corporate portal. Retention follows HMRC rules for VAT records (six years) and shorter windows for behavioural data. Gett publishes equivalent GDPR documentation.
