Our Brighton coverage runs from the pier and the seafront in the south right up through Preston Park, Fiveways, and Hollingbury in the north, and across the full length of Hove — Church Road, Palmeira Square, Portslade, and the industrial estates near the harbour. Kemptown, Whitehawk, Woodingdean, Rottingdean, Saltdean, and Peacehaven are all standard territory, as are inland villages such as Falmer, Stanmer, and Ditchling on the way to the South Downs. Journey times you can trust

Local knowledge shapes every quote we give. From central Brighton (say, the Clock Tower) to Brighton Station is a five to ten minute run, longer during the evening commute or after a big Amex fixture. Down to the Palace Pier and Sea Life Centre is usually five minutes off-peak. Out to the Amex Stadium at Falmer takes roughly fifteen to twenty minutes when it is not a match day, and considerably longer when it is — we build that into pre-match bookings automatically. The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Kemptown is under ten minutes from the city centre; the University of Sussex campus at Falmer is fifteen or so.

Brighton to Gatwick Airport — the flagship route

The A23 out through Patcham, past Pyecombe and Hickstead and up to the M23, remains the most heavily used airport corridor in the county. Off-peak, a Brighton to Gatwick taxi runs comfortably in thirty-five to forty-five minutes. In weekday morning rush, allow closer to an hour, particularly around Pease Pottage and Handcross where the road narrows and slow-moving lorries can bunch traffic. Fares are fixed at booking, typically in a range that reflects pickup postcode, vehicle class, and time of day rather than any meter running while you sit in a queue. Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, and London City

Longer airport runs are still a major part of our Brighton work. Heathrow via the M23, M25 and M4 sits at roughly ninety minutes to two hours depending on the London orbital, and we watch the traffic on the day rather than plan blind. Luton up the M23 and around to the M25 usually takes around two hours off-peak. Stansted via the Dartford Crossing is a longer haul, closer to two and a half hours; we quote fixed fares for all of them so you know exactly what the ride costs before you leave the seafront. Brighton railway station and the London commute

Brighton Station is the beating heart of the city's commuter life, with fast Thameslink services to Blackfriars and St Pancras and Southern trains to London Victoria. Getting to the station reliably matters. Our drivers use the Terminus Road drop-off rather than fighting through Queens Road, and we build a small buffer into pre-booked morning runs so a red light on West Street does not cost you a train. From Hove Station on Goldstone Villas, a taxi into central Brighton runs seven to twelve minutes depending on traffic on Western Road.

Match days at the Amex Stadium

The American Express Community Stadium at Falmer is a fantastic venue and a genuinely tricky traffic problem. Village Way and the A27 approach both bottleneck two hours before kick-off and again in the twenty minutes after full time. We normally recommend a drop-off at a slightly earlier point — either Falmer Station or the University of Sussex — with a short walk in, or a pickup twenty to thirty minutes after the final whistle from a quieter side road. On big European nights or against the top-six clubs, plan longer. We know which streets clear first.

Coastal and countryside runs — Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Eastbourne

Brighton sits in the middle of some of England's most drivable coastline. Along the A259 or A27, Worthing taxi journeys typically run twenty-five to thirty-five minutes; Shoreham-by-Sea sits closer at fifteen. East along the coast, Newhaven is around twenty-five minutes and Eastbourne roughly forty-five to fifty-five. Inland, Lewes taxi journeys are twenty minutes on the A27 for a proper county-town day trip or a Lewes bonfire night visit. Fleet options — from saloons to eight-seaters

Most Brighton bookings go out in a standard four-seater saloon or hatchback, which fits three adults comfortably with two large suitcases in the boot. For airport runs with a family of four plus luggage, our estate cars and small MPVs add real space without a big price jump. Larger groups — hen parties heading to a Kemptown restaurant, a stag do arriving from Gatwick, or a work team going to a conference at the Grand — are handled in six or eight-seater vans. Executive vehicles with black interiors are available for corporate bookings when the client meeting warrants it.

Booking, tracking, and paying

Booking runs through the CabsOn app on iOS and Android, through our website, or over the phone if that is your preference. Once your driver is on the way you see them live on the map, along with their name, licence details, vehicle make, and registration. Pay by card in the app, by Apple Pay or Google Pay, in cash to the driver, or on a corporate account with monthly invoicing. Every fare quoted is the fare charged — no meter, no surge, no last-minute surprises. That is the point of a proper local service.
